Your website could be quietly costing you money

Every second of load time can cost you customers. Every SEO issue can cost you visibility. Security gaps can put your reputation at risk. A website audit helps identify what might be going wrong so you can address it before your competitors do.

Speed matters for sales

Slow sites lose impatient mobile customers. Faster load times generally mean better conversions.

Page one of Google wins clicks

Most search traffic goes to the top few results. Where you rank directly affects how much traffic you see.

Mobile is how most people browse

A large share of web traffic now comes from phones. Your site needs to work well on every screen size.

A clear audit, written for florists

We use the same industry-standard tools as the big audit platforms (Google PageSpeed Insights, Mozilla Observatory, direct TLS inspection) and pair them with a plain-English explanation for every result. The checks themselves are universal website best practices - what's different is the context. We explain what each result means for a florist shop owner, not a backend engineer.

Google PageSpeed Insights

The same Lighthouse test Google uses to assess site performance. Measures performance, accessibility, SEO and best practices on the page you submit. Speed matters for any website, but especially for florist customers who often buy on impulse from their phone.

What you'll see: Your performance score, Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, FCP), and the top opportunities Google identifies to speed up the page.

SEO Health Check

14 common on-page SEO factors: title tag length, meta description length, heading structure, canonical URL, Open Graph tags, Twitter Card tags, image alt text coverage, robots meta, Schema.org JSON-LD presence, favicon, HTTPS and mobile viewport. Each scored against widely-accepted best-practice criteria.

What you'll see: Every check scored pass/fail with a specific fix explained in plain English. Perfect for handing to a developer or working through yourself.

Security Headers

Uses Mozilla Observatory to grade your HTTP security headers: CSP, HSTS, X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy, and Permissions-Policy. Weak headers expose your customers to XSS, clickjacking, and data leaks.

What you'll see: A letter grade (A+ to F) plus per-header analysis of what's missing and why it matters.

SSL Certificate

Direct inspection of your SSL/TLS certificate: validity, issuer, expiry date, and protocol version. An expired or weak SSL cert causes browser warnings that send customers straight to your competitors.

What you'll see: Days until expiry, issuer name, and a health status (healthy / expiring soon / expired).

How to improve your website score

Some fixes are 5-minute jobs. Others need a developer. Here's the order most florists should tackle them in:

1

Fix SSL first (critical)

If your cert is expired or invalid, customers see a big red warning before they ever reach your site. Renew it today via your hosting provider.

2

Compress your images

Unoptimised product photos are one of the most common causes of a slow website. Use WebP format where possible and aim to keep images under about 200KB each.

3

Write proper meta descriptions

Every page needs a unique 120-160 character description. This is often the deciding factor in whether someone clicks your result on Google.

4

Add alt text to every product image

Alt text helps Google understand your images and makes your site accessible. Describe what's in the photo: "red rose bouquet in glass vase", not "image_4532.jpg".

5

Add Schema.org structured data

LocalBusiness, Product, and Review schemas help Google display rich snippets (star ratings, prices, opening hours) right in search results. Huge click-through boost.

6

Enable security headers

Most are a single config line. Content-Security-Policy, HSTS, and X-Frame-Options protect your customers and boost Google's trust in your site.

7

Audit again in 30 days

Websites drift. Plugins slow things down. Certs expire. Set a calendar reminder to re-audit monthly.

Audit tool FAQ

Yes, completely free, no signup required, and no hidden charges. We built it as a free tool for florists to diagnose their websites instantly.

We use independent third-party services where available - Google PageSpeed Insights for performance, Mozilla Observatory for the security headers grade, and direct TLS inspection for SSL. The SEO check uses our own analysis of 14 common best-practice factors. It does not cover every SEO metric and is not 100% accurate. Results are a helpful starting point, not a full professional audit. You should discuss findings with a qualified developer before making major changes. Some checks may also be inaccurate if a site is behind bot protection (like Cloudflare) that serves our scanner a challenge page instead of the real website.

This tool is designed for small independent florist websites. Large enterprise sites are built on different priorities such as global CDN architecture, A/B testing scripts, analytics pixels, consent management platforms and compliance tooling. Those things often tank audit scores but don't reflect real problems on those sites. If you're running a multi-national SaaS platform, this isn't the right tool for you. If you run a florist shop, you're in the right place.

No. This audit covers public-facing basics: performance, on-page SEO, HTTP security headers, and SSL certificate health. It does not check server configuration, application vulnerabilities, WAF protections, DDoS mitigation (Cloudflare, Sucuri, AWS Shield), malware, or backend security. A low grade here is not a crisis, and a high grade is not a guarantee that your site is fully secure. For a full professional audit, speak to a security specialist.

Each issue comes with a specific fix - so the simplest thing is to hand the report to your web developer, or work through the list yourself if you're comfortable editing your site. The goal of the audit is to show you where the gaps are. If you'd rather start with a fresh build than patch an old site, that's where we can help - but there's no obligation either way.

Monthly is ideal. Websites drift over time: SSL certs expire, plugins slow things down, security headers get removed during updates. A regular audit catches issues before they hurt your rankings or sales.

Most of the issues our audit finds (missing meta tags, slow images, expired SSL certs, weak security headers) can be fixed on any website - your existing developer or host should be able to action them using the specific fixes in the report. BloomScribe builds florist websites with these things correct from the start, so if you'd prefer a clean slate we're happy to chat. But the audit itself is genuinely here to help, whatever you decide to do next.

The underlying checks are universal, but this tool is tuned for small florist websites. It won't give meaningful results on large enterprise or SaaS platforms. For general website audits, Google's own PageSpeed Insights is a fine alternative.

Scores are generated by third-party services (Google PageSpeed Insights, Mozilla Observatory) and our own scanner. BloomScribe (BloomDigi Limited) accepts no liability for the accuracy, completeness, or any decision or action taken based on this report. You are responsible for verifying findings with your own developer or specialist before making changes to your website. This tool is provided free and as-is.

Yes. By using this tool you confirm that you are the site owner, or that you have permission from the site owner to run an audit on the URL you submitted. Do not use this tool to audit websites you do not own or have no authority over. The audit sends requests to the target site and calls third-party services which may log the request.
